The Disciplinary System

This system of self-regulation is powered by approximately 200 attorneys and lay members who volunteer their time on district committees, the disciplinary board, and the committee on lawyer discipline.

MCLE Requirements

All active lawyers are required to annually complete CLE credit hours. Some CLE events are listed on the Bar Calendar. The current MCLE approved list is available on the MCLE main page.

Bar Leadership

The VSB is governed by its Council and Executive Committee, whose members are elected or appointed from every judicial circuit in the Commonwealth.

Supreme Court of Virginia Forms

Virginia Lawyer Referral Service

The VLRS was founded in 1977 to assist the public with referrals to practicing members of the Virginia State Bar. The VLRS makes over 20 referrals a day or 4,000 a year; and receives over 12,000 calls yearly.
