Welcome to the Senior Lawyers Section

Senior Lawyers Conference logoThe SLS of the Virginia State Bar was established in 1987 by VSB Council. We have a growing membership who focus on issues of interest to senior lawyers and promotion of the welfare of senior Virginians. We have provided assistance in the implementation of the revised guardianship laws for adults. We prepare, revise, and publish the Senior Virginians Handbook (rev. 2025). We provide education and encouragement to lawyers to do proper planning for their own disability or death in our Succession Planning resources. We are interested in receiving input from senior lawyers and senior Virginians on issues of concern to them, in order to enable us to study issues, present programs and activities, produce publications of interest, and advocate appropriately.
