Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Virginia to Evaluate Candidates for Judicial Vacancies

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Virginia (APABA-VA) will be convening a Judicial Review Committee to interview candidates for the new positions on the Virginia Court of Appeals.

For Candidates

Please submit the following via email to President Liz Soc, and copy Judicial Chair Kang He no later than July 31, 2026.

  1. Your application materials submitted to the VSB.
  2. A list of three (3) references.
  3. Your answers to the following questions:
  • What do you think is the most important issue or problem in the legal field today? Please explain your opinion.
  • What do you think is the most important legal issue or problem relating to minorities? To immigrants? To women? Please explain your opinion.
  • What, if any, barriers do you see to adequate access to the courts for minorities? For immigrants? For women? What recommendations would you make to remove any such barriers?
