Call for Mediators: Make an Impact with the VSB Fee Dispute Resolution Program
The Virginia State Bar’s (VSB) Fee Dispute Resolution Program (FDRP) is looking for mediators ready to step in and make a difference. The FDRP offers a confidential, informal, and cost-free process for resolving attorney-client fee disputes—helping parties reach fair outcomes without the time, expense, and strain of litigation. Our Circuit Committee panels need qualified mediators to meet it.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Mediators for Circuit Committee Resolution of Fee Dispute (CCRFD) panels are selected based on their certification, training, experience, and references.
To serve, volunteers must:
- Be in good standing with the Virginia State Bar and have a minimum of five (5) years in legal practice (the following membership classes are eligible: Active, Associate, Emeritus, Retired, Corporate Counsel)
- Be certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia
- Complete the three-hour Fee Dispute Program video training (eligible for 3 hours CLE credit)
- Conduct a conflict check before accepting any matter
- Adhere to the Rules of Professional Conduct
