Be a VSB Leader in 2023

Virginia lawyers are needed to run for VSB Council and to volunteer in the disciplinary system or serve on a variety of Virginia State Bar committees beginning July 1, 2023 (see below). More information about running for VSB Council may be found in a previous news item. Lawyers must be active members and in good standing with the VSB.

All members of VSB committees serve 3-year terms, July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026, with two consecutive terms allowed.

The work of the committees is time consuming and can require substantial time to fulfill the requirements of the job. To encourage participation—and recognizing the time commitment—lawyers are generally limited to serve on one committee. The number of available positions is limited, but an attempt to accommodate as many people as possible will be made.

A full explanation of the nominating and appointment process is available on the Bar Service Volunteer Opportunities page.
