Fellowship!
The Virginia State Bar’s Criminal Law Section,
together with the Young Lawyers Conference, wants to support young lawyers
practicing criminal law throughout the Commonwealth. Five successful applicants
will be selected as Criminal Law Fellows and receive free tuition and free
hotel accommodations* for the 54th Annual Criminal Law Seminar on
February 2nd in Charlottesville or February 9th in
Williamsburg.
The Criminal Law Seminar is a phenomenal way to
earn CLE credits and network with fellow criminal law practitioners,
commonwealth’s attorneys, and judges. Topics include recent developments
in criminal law; demystifying federal practice; artificial intelligence and new
legal questions; mechanics, themes, and theories of a case – voire dire,
opening, closing; and vicarious trauma/wellness. The full seminar schedule is

To
apply, send a copy of your resume and a short statement of interest (< 500
words) to [email protected]. Please include
your preferred seminar location in the email. Participants will be chosen by
members of the YLC and Criminal Law Section. To be eligible you must be a
member of the YLC (under 36 years of age or within your first three years of
practice), but do not have to be a current member of the Criminal Law
Section.
Deadline
to apply is 4pm on January 8. Winners will be notified by January 15.
*overnight
accommodations will be made available only if the recipient lives >50 miles
from the seminar location.
