Opportunity for July 2024 Bar Examinees to Be Paid to Take the NextGen Prototype Bar Exam

The National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) will conduct a nationwide prototype administration of the NextGen bar exam, which is currently under development and will debut in July 2026. The mock exam will take place on October 18–19, 2024, in Richmond and will test new question types and formats over a total of nine-hours across the two days.

July 2024 bar examinees are invited to apply to serve as paid participants for this trial administration. Selected applicants will receive $1,500 for their participation. While participants are expected to make a good-faith effort on the exam, they are not required to study for it.

Participants are not limited to taking the prototype administration in the same jurisdiction where they took the July 2024 bar exam or attended law school.

The application period runs from August 19 through August 29, 2024. Interested individuals must ensure their email addresses are updated in their NCBE accounts and with their applicable bar examiners. Details about the prototype exam and application process will be emailed on August 19, 2024.

Only contact the NCBE with questions about this opportunity.
