Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Elects New Representative

Sebastian Norton PortraitSebastian M. Norton of Alexandria has been elected to represent the 18th Judicial Circuit of the Virginia State Bar Council, filling a vacancy created after the former representative moved out of the circuit.

Norton is an estate planning attorney and litigator with the firm of King, Campbell, Poretz, and Mitchell in Alexandria. A native of Alexandria, Norton attended Tulane University before graduating from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Norton is an active member of the Alexandria Bar Association and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

Norton’s appointment to this Council seat will be for the unexpired term effective immediately; the term ends June 30, 2023. He may serve two consecutive 3-year terms after completing the unexpired term.

The Virginia State Bar Council is an 81-person body, consisting of 65 lawyers elected from the 31 circuits throughout the Commonwealth, as well as nine at-large members appointed by the Supreme Court of Virginia, four conference chairs, and three officers.
