Message from Neil Kessler, founding board member

Thank you very much for your kind invitation to the 40th annual conference. Regrettably, I will not be able to attend.

It is difficult to fathom that 40 years have passed since the first annual conference. I am proud and honored to have worked with Dick Dixon, Jack Rabhan, Art Vieregg and so many other construction law legends in organizing the Construction Law Section and the first several annual conferences. I cannot tell you how much I learned from the conferences and the other Founding Members and how much I admired the Founding Members as leaders, attorneys, organizers, role models and friends. I also cannot tell you how proud I am to see that the Construction Law Section is still strong and thriving after so many years and roller coaster economies.

Please express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to the current leaders of the Section for continuing the traditions of the Section and raising the bar to educate members of the Virginia bar about the intricacies of Construction Law in the Commonwealth and for continuing to provide networking opportunities for Virginia construction lawyers, which has led to greater collegiality among the members of the Virginia bar who practice in that arena.

I am certain the event will be wonderful and nostalgic. Please keep waving the Construction Law Section banner. That will be the most gratifying achievement for me, as a Founding Member. All the best and thank you for all you are doing for the Construction Law Section. Although I am now retired, I am available to assist you and the other leaders of the Section in any way I can. Please do not hesitate to call on me. All the best. Neil Kessler
