Senior Lawyers Section Launches Two New On-Demand Webinars for MCLE Credit

Senior Lawyers Section logoThe Virginia State Bar Senior Lawyers Section (SLS) has unveiled two new on-demand MCLE webinars available for free: Protecting Your and Your Clients’ Interests in the Event of Your Disability, Death, or Other Disaster and Succession Planning for Solo and Small Firm Practitioners. The two webinars address the importance of VSB members protecting their clients by creating disaster and succession plans, and each webinar offers one hour of on-demand CLE credit, including one hour of ethics credit (approved).

Protecting Your and Your Clients’ Interests shows the necessity of having thoughtful planning documents in place when disaster strikes. VSB Council Member Carole H. Capsalis and VSB Senior Intake Counsel Mary W. Martelino present an updated version of this longstanding VSB program aimed at reducing receiverships and protecting clients. To access the webinar and earn MCLE credit, register on Go To Webinar.

Succession Planning, a joint project of the SLS and the VSB General Practice Section, explores transitions in a legal career that we choose over time, including moving to a new firm and retirement. In the program, SLS Chair Barbara S. Anderson and General Practice Section Chair John C. Johnson discuss ethical requirements and resources for managing transitions. To access the webinar and earn MCLE credit, register on Go To Webinar.

In addition to the two new webinars, the SLS film project Civility and Professionalism in a Successful Litigation Practice—Mentorship from the Bench and Bar continues to be available as a free webinar for Virginia lawyers to earn two hours of on-demand MCLE credit, including two hours of ethics credit.
