YLC Professional Development Conference

The YLC Professional Development Conference is a virtual webinar conference that includes four sessions with relatable, practical information, all tailored for Virginia's young lawyers. Up to 3.0 hours of CLE credit are being sought for these timely topics:

9:00 - 10:00 AM     Access to Legal Services to Prevent Land Loss in Low-Wealth Communities

10:05 – 11:05 AM      Estate Planning & Heirs Property
This session will provide an in-depth understanding of the complexities surrounding estate planning and the unique challenges of managing heirs' property. We will discuss practical strategies and legal tools aimed at minimizing the unintentional creation of heirs’ property.

11:10 AM – 12:10 PM     Combating Chronic Stress through Mindfulness
This session will introduce practical mindfulness techniques designed to help manage and reduce chronic stress. We will explore the science behind mindfulness, its benefits, and how it can be incorporated into your daily routine to promote overall well-being and enhance professional performance.

1:00 - 2:00 PM      Managing Digital Evidence
Grounded in the statutes and rules governing discovery of electronically stored information (ESI), this session will provide a roadmap for gathering, storing, and utilizing digital evidence. We will explore common pitfalls for litigators in the discovery and proper admission of digital evidence, focusing on ESI from social media and relevant examples from case law.
