Presented by the International Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar.
Major international trade developments have occurred in 2026. For example, in its landmark decision in Learning Resources, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the President that does not have authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose tariffs, which has created the possibility for refunds of IEEPA tariffs of upwards of $150 billion and has led the Administration to look into other ways that tariffs could be reimposed, including through new Section 301 investigations involving dozens of countries. In another major development, the U.S. Government has significantly eased sanctions against Venezuela in order to make it less difficult for U.S. companies to engage in activities to help rebuild the Venezuelan oil industry. During this program, a panel of seasoned practitioners will discuss these and other major international trade developments and the business opportunities and compliance challenges that they present.
This course anticipates offering a total of 1.5 hours live CLE credit.
