Annual Meeting Programs
YLS volunteers plan a special interest, continuing legal education (CLE) program that takes place during the VSB’s Annual Meeting held in Virginia Beach in June. This showcase CLE often takes the form of “Judiciary Squares”, featuring judges from the Commonwealth and federal benches. During gubernatorial election years the programs committee typically schedules a debate between candidates running for Attorney General. The YLC often co-sponsors additional CLE programs.
Annual Meeting Athletics
An Annual Meeting staple, the “Run in the Sun” 5k foot race, is coordinated by this YLS committee.
Membership Meeting Luncheon
This annual lunch meeting creates an opportunity for fellowship between new and tenured section members. The Board of Governors hosts a meeting in which all members of the Section participate, an annual report is provided, and a vote is held to elect incoming members of the board. During this luncheon, the R. Edwin Burnette, Jr. Young Lawyer of the Year Award is presented.
