Julie M. Cillo Receives Family Law Service Award

Julie M. Cillo, partner at Owen & Owens, PLC, was awarded the Family Law Service Award by the Virginia State Bar Family Law Section Board of Governors.

The Family Law Service Award is given to an individual or organization “who has consistently given freely of time, talent and energies to provide valuable services in advancing family, domestic relations or juvenile law in Virginia, whether such services are rendered to the Virginia legal community or directly to the citizens of Virginia.”

Cillo graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992 with honors in government, later receiving the Dartmouth Youth Alumni Distinguished Service Award in 2007, and earned her J.D. at American University, Washington College of Law, in 1995.

She recently ended her one-year term as president of the Richmond Bar Association, where she served in multiple capacities on the Board of Directors since 2010.

Cillo was also on the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Board of Governors in the Family Law Section chair from 2010 to 2011, was president of the Metro Richmond Family Law Bar Association, was a member of the Virginia Family Law Coalition for 15 years, and a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers for two years.

The Family Law Service Award will be presented at the 42nd Annual Family Law Seminar on April 23, 2026, at the Hilton Richmond Hotel and Spa in Short Pump.
